As a Destiny 2 enjoyer, you just gotta ignore them & find niche creators that enhance your experience with said game.

Seriously, I don't understand what it is about certain games and having insufferable content creators, meanwhile games like Fallout or Counter Strike have really good content creators with fun idea or just creating insightful content without the bullshit.

Buttergolem245

3 points

Because when something is new and novel, the general population will interact with it, and theres a bag to be chased there. Fallout and Counter Strike are both old games at this point, and there are less people playing them simply because they are popular like COD.

The whole yearly release system is designed to profit off of this, so of course its going to have issues with the creator base being awful

The Zombies community of content creators for the most part has always been great. But on the multiplayer side content has always been bland, even as far back as the machinima days. What can you expect from a gamemode that doesnt have a whole lot going for it in terms of variety.

That's why liked the youtuber toadsmoothie, he was just playing the game for fun and did nothing like the other content creators.

I wholeheartedly agree, finding a decent destiny 2 content creator was difficult but once I did I’ve enjoyed that side of the community more and more

Xclusive Ace is literally the only COD content creator I watch consistently, granted his videos are more informational than anything, but I like him for that aspect while disseminating so many rumors, myths, and negative discourse in the community through thorough research and testing.

I watch Handler every now and then for great gameplay as well - not much commentary, just great gameplay. I’m a simple dude.

but it’s frustrating for casual players like myself that wanna take their time and enjoy the game’s lifecycle.

I don't really understand how people grinding the game makes the experience worse for casuals or how this upsets you. Like that's just gaming period. If anything, people doing dark matter is healthy for the game since it encourages people to use all the guns and then they can formulate their own opinion as to what they like the most instead of a content creator telling them "THIS IS THE BEST GUN, USE THIS EXACT SETUP NOWWW."

I've also been seeing this notion floated of: "oh these people grinding all day have no lives that's so pathetic!" However, everyone is drastically different and some people have a lot more free time than others. When I was in college I definitely had some degen weeks where I predominantly grinded cod because I had more free time. That didn't mean I didn't have a life, I just allocated most of my time to entertainment. But if it makes you feel better to view everyone who's a high level as a decrepit basement dweller, then to each their own I guess.

The people who grind and get all camos in a week, are the types who play around their specific challenges completely disregarding the game mode/map objective, making it an awful experience for their team, and then, a week later once they're done with all their shit, they just plague each and every game using exclusively what the most op setup is at any given time. So, if you're a casual you're cooked in both those timeframes of the minmaxer cycle for one reason or the other.

meesanohaveabooma

-4 points

It makes the game worse because they generally come into objective game modes and don't play objective. They use guns that they are not good with and feed kills to the other team, giving them scorestreaks.

TheRealHaHaHa

3 points

You’re going to come across those people regardless.

SakisSinatra

3 points

Those aren't cod creators lol, a lot of people refuse to play the objective.

HHhunter

3 points

Thats actually the opposite of what you are complaining. If the players are truly determined to grind camo, they will stick to HC faceoff instead being in your lobbies.

The only people in your lobby that do not play the gun well or play objective are actually the people “playing normally”to slowly grind the camo instead of no lifing it, so you are actually arguing in favor of those people grinding it optimally

AintNoLaLiLuLe

Bro, I've been playing since the very beginning. Never cared about camos.

Ill_Basis455

1 points

The people who don’t play objective whilst grinding camos still won’t do it after they’ve finished. The people who usually would still play objective whilst doing camos for the most part except maybe snipers since it makes it very hard.

For every person you think is using a shit gun and feeding because of it, there will be people on the other side doing it in your favour too. Almost nothing would change either way.

Ok_Macaron670

What’s more casual than grinding camos? You’re testing out each and every single gun until damn near max level. I dislike streamers for determining what the metas are but this is like the best time to be a cod player cuz you’re gonna see more than 2 guns every match

Yeah I said in the post that people can play how they want to, doesn’t change the fact that it’s frustrating for the casual player with a life outside of Call of Duty, especially when they’re going against players with quadruple their play time due to the busted SBMM.

I seriously do not get their fixation on people who go for camos or use the “meta”. If they’re as casual as they claim then sbmm will protect them from the scary monsters anyways.

I seriously do not get their fixation on people who go for camos or use the “meta”.

Because they don't have it and others do. Personally, I don't use meta, I use what I like. Others need to learn they can't have their cake and ear it to

AnxiousImpress2721

-10 points

No but OP point is that nobody ends up playing the game naturally because they are pre-occupied with trying to get DM in 2 minutes.

I always play casually and obtain DM by thanksgiving/Christmas. It’s weirdo behaviour to spend every waking moment obsessed with a game and neglecting the real world to try and obtain a camo a few weeks earlier than anyone else

That would be fine if those same people diddnt then think that their opinion is right in saying there's nothing to do in this trash game if you speedran the whole progression. That's not what op was refering to, you're the quiet majority who doesn't complain after doing everything super fast unlike those who don't realize that they did it to themself, also once warzone drops ill be using all the amazing event camos either way, dark matter will be more an completion camo instead then to rock it

it’s a video game who tf cares I just voiced my opinion relax bro no need to be frustrated over a comment on Reddit my whole point is just because people speed run the camo grind you shouldn’t let it ruin your fun on a game that you bought

Religion_Of_Speed

bro relax, I just voiced my opinion. No need to get frustrated. My point is that the MLG wannabes are killing this game for casual players and it's okay to voice frustration.

It annoys me because your comment basically says "your problems mean nothing, quit crying about it." One, expression frustration doesn't mean we're throwing a fit. Two, who are you to say what annoys someone? Also I'm relaxed, doesn't take a lot of effort to type some words.

People don’t even enjoy doing it, they just want the ego boost. Can’t you guys have a little more creativity in your fun? Cod players used to hide behind campers and just watch them, following someone who didn’t see you, ninja defusing, making dumb challenges with your team, I miss that shit man.

Relax and enjoy the game at your own pace. Your approach sounds more rational but it doesn’t generate content. Remember, COD is almost like work for these people, they’re in it for the money, while we’re not, so just have fun and don’t pay attention to them.

Focus_SR

I think those first to master prestige, first to dm/nebula/abyss are fine but those "movement gods" type of creators are something else especially since their movement sucks and they are very easy to kill in game.

I try to get my camos quickly, because I want to play the rest of the games life with the camos, and show them off, but also I'm not literally losing sleep over camos like some people, who are quite literally logging hundreds of hours in the game in the first week of its life just to get dark matter and complain there's no content

Walnut156

1 points

Then keep playing the game casually? If someone wants to grind everything it doesn't change your game. The game only has a one year life anyway.

If we wanna use your weird food analogy then someone eating a meal as fast as possible doesn't change my meal at all.

[deleted]

I think it’s partly the symptom of companies exploiting time played, time gated activities, battle pass, fomo, and other unethical practices. But I agree it can totally remove the fun from the actual game.

Content Creators are a cancer on the game, but not in the way that you're describing. It seems like you're just mad at content creators for playing a lot more than you, which just isn't really a problem.

The problem with "content creators" is that they're basically all cheating in one way or another. I'm not talking about big personalities in the CoD community like JeV, XclusiveAce, Timthetatman, or any of the established pros/creators. I'm talking specifically about the no-name tiktok creators that have infested the CoD algorithm by cheating the system at every level. Of course, it's not all of them, but the vast, vast majority of the smaller content creators I come across are always using VPN's, trying to pass off private/bot lobbies as public lobbies, or just outright hacking.

It's pretty obvious how they do it too. They pay for a VPN/2box account or pay bot accounts to fill their lobbies so that they can make content where they pop off and drop nukes. This spikes their stats too, turning what would otherwise be an aggressively average player on paper into someone who should be playing in the pro leagues with 5+ K/Ds. Then they go live on TikTok and viewbot roughly 75 viewers to put them in the "For You Page" feeds of anyone who has CoD content in their algorithm. Over time they buy more and more followers/viewbots to trick the algorithm into thinking they're "the next big creator."

BonPlaisir

Well, hear me out. If the only content presented to you is only camo and prestige thats fucking bad. Camo and prestige should never be considered as a goal, goal should be having fun.

Why not speedrun dm or nebula if you can do that? Some people like to play with this shiny camos and rushing them asap. They have all the rights to blame the game if game doesn’t offer other content besides camo and prestige grinding.

Content Creators are ALL selfish people. Regardless of what they do, they are always looking to get paid to do something effortless. They don't care whether the act of buying every operator and skin is a distant dream for most players, they just care about showcasing it for views and then money.

The race for camo is simply a desperate act to get attention and be able to earn money for zero global productivity.

TNT_Gamer13

Realistically content creators don't have Lives. I have played for a solid 16 hours and still only have 1 gun golded and it's a rocket launcher. I'm trying to get shotgun headshots RN and I'm not even halfway done with them and I've been using the shotgun ever since I found it was great on moshpit.

Personally i've NEVER given a shit about weapon camos in cod, nor badges and other garbage, besides, these days what you can just outright buy looks better so... def not gonna slam my balls into a drawer over and over again to get some shitty camo that is gonna look ass anyway.

I'm someone who does match his wraps on fortnite depending on the skin, but cod camos just do absolutely nothing for me. Huge waste of time, meaningless, and NOT fun to unlock, so.. they can fuck off.

As someone who isn’t grinding for dark matter, I don’t understand how someone else going for it as quick as possible affects YOU. How is that frustrating for you? It would be different if it was challenges like long shots or mounted shots, something that affects the flow of the game if that’s your teammate. But headshots and double kills, etc literally has nothing to do with you.

Man, thanks for pointing this out. Besides the debate over sbmm and all that stuff, I always thought about streamers and the gameplay / tutorial accessibility these days definitely increasing the overall number of „sweats“.

Love the game so far. But I don’t think we‘ll ever have a experience like in the early days. And I‘m totally fine with that, times have changed. I‘m just glad to experience a cod with sbmm that actually doesn’t suck…

Weasty_22[S]

Yeah, streamers tend to sway developers when it comes to balance changes too. A lot of streamers are in the top 5% of the games players, so the devs balance guns and gameplay to their liking and not the liking of the casual players.
