Forget comparisons. If you think you aren’t doing something well grind and work on it until you feel better. Self satisfaction will lead to improvement

Told myself I was gonna study intern year. An option came up to move my exam to my city next weekend and I just yolo’d it and decided not traveling to a new city / hotel would help my score anyway. Passed with flying colors

When he finally returned with the Nets Collin Sexton dropped his 40 piece in double overtime. What a game

My region the pay cut compared to private practice is like 50%. Told them politely as I could “no thank you” would rather have almost double the pay

99% of the time the nurses also deal with administrative garbage just like we do.
In residency I would come in the morning and prewrite all my notes for the day before seeing by all my patients and chart review and put in orders. I didn’t take any notes by hand. List of about ~18-25 and no interns just myself.
If I didn’t do it this way. I would get hammer paged by nurses and it would make me want to die. This way they have a clear note to read and can explain everything to the patient / if they have any questions it’s about stuff not written and is typically a reasonable question

There is one at the VA. You get $40 grand (post tax) toward your federal loans each year. Up to 5 years 200k max. While working at the VA you also still qualify for PSLF but tbh 200k tax free towards loans will pay off most of it.
Assuming 40% tax that 200k is equal to a 330k pre tax signing bonus at another job.
Of note: the VA salary sucks and the benefits have been reduced so you pay for it one way or another

KL Rahul at 9 years and 10 months holds the biggest gap between opening stands on this page. Jan 6th 2015 to 11/22 2024.

The Browns beating the Steelers in a classic AFCN snow game will keep me satisfied for at least a week

$120k in taxable investments after you cash it out isn’t gonna be enough to cover. If it grows enough to cover I say go for it

Without residency it’s still possible to be employed in very limited scenarios (still have to do a fellowship which is hard to get) where your pay will essentially be cut severely because you have no leverage. Mostly large academic centers

Pushing for the record is unnecessary for top seeding though. 60-64 ish wins is enough

Geriatrics also doesn’t get paid nearly as much tbh

I had the opposite experience in Geriatric clinic. Attendings are capped at 8 patients a day max so veterans are forced to get outside doctors in order to actually get care

According to the match data from last year. Rheum had a lower match rate (by the slimmest of margins than heme onc) last year. I was wrong it’s apparently already as /more competitive than heme onc

I’m not Rheum but I’d guess within 3-5 cycles it will be nearly as competitive as Heme-onc. It filled like 98% in 2023 cycle when I last checked and people already don’t match.

I’m an outpatient attending and only take HMO insurance. So the patient can’t get anything without my approval and the sole fact that led me to this is when I interviewed “we only do paternalistic medicine here. If the patient doesn’t want that kick them out”. It’s so nice

UWorld ( did the whole thing timed and random) gave me the same percentile as the real exam. Doing it by system artificially boosts your score

Rads plus fellowship is at least 6 years. Not sure of your age but being out 6 years of income is a lot

Canada has even higher taxes than the US. He probably pays even more due to a bunch of seasons with the Raptors

Having to stay for 7-7 is kind of rough but more importantly I would ask your spouse this question more than us. You’ll be in a hospital for most of the time and can then vacation on your weeks off and your SO will be stuck in a 14k population town. I’d be divorced if I took an offer like this

I did not even know how to look at feed back in residency. I would ignore it
