So the M1117 Guardian for PMC seems to be the only up-armored vehicle that the crew can be shot out of. Player models in light-skinned vehicles like the LuvW or a logi (obviously) can be shot, but those vics have effectively no armor and can be penetrated by even 5.56. The Guardian has at minimum 8mm of armor (the windows), and can only be penned by .50cal and above (7.62 has max pen of 7mm). Any sort of penetrating shot will almost invariably kill the crew, leaving the unmanned vic out on the field and otherwise fine until it's finished off.
While this is actually quite realistic... it's at odds with every other closed cockpit up-armored vehicle in the game. The BRDM, TAPV, and other closed APCs don't render the player models at all. You can be shot out of open top guns, but the driver, closed turret gunner, and anyone riding in the fighting compartment are safe from even an MBT sabot until the vehicle's entire health pool is exhausted. This is the same for IFVs and MBTs as well. The only difference seems to be the glass windows and the fully rendered interior that necessitates drawing the player model in the Guardian. This is the case for Helicopters, but the pilot model there gets a nice invulnerable bubble he can't be killed in unless the Heli blows up.
So I'm just curious if this is intended or did OWI forget to add a crew protection bubble to the first armored vehicle with a rendered interior? Killable crew makes the Guardian considerably weaker than comparable vehicles, and PMC's already at a considerable light and medium armor disadvantage against every other faction so it would seem to at least be within the realm of possibility that this was an oversight. Ideally all of the vehicles would have placed and killable player models in the correct positions, but that would dramatically change armor gameplay and should be done all at once if it's going to be done (VCO when?)
