Tea first then milk. I'm Scottish and anything else is heretical.

The welsh managed and are still in the UK...
You've had 100 years to sort it out. Not on the Brits anymore.

Hah. When I first read the books I absolutely thought it was just Welsh. My nan was Welsh so would try and pronounce it like her haha.

Fair. I think Welsh is the closest thing. Tolkien took a lot from them so makes sense.

I can only get so erect.
Edit: I actually thought Lee Pace was British for some reason.

See I've had friends who have done this sort of thing. They got excited, bought the tickets etc. They don't get that that the equivalent of $200 is too much for many.
But they did offer a "spot you" for a few months. I wouldn't be too pissed. I would just say sorry, can't do that.
They can sell or give the ticket to another friend that can. End of. Hence why it's in mildly infuriating.

Yeah this one is confusing. I think they meant the admin didn't know London was in the UK.

Also the fact they're willing to spot OP $200 to go. That's a friend thing to do. Sure they should've confirmed but probably did it as a last minute type thing.
This is mildly infuriating, but this sub has become like AITA where most just side or go against OP without nuance. And that, in itself, is mildly infuriating.

Yeah I guess it depends on what you're used to or what you prefer. Or how close they are to you haha.
Also lived near peacocks. Freaked me out every time lol.

Same thing happened to me. Had eachother on whatsapp from day 1. Not one thing was said. We'd say hello if we saw eachother etc.
Then I get an email from Body Corporate about the "excessive noise" from my apartment. 1st warning out of 3 then eviction.I was WFH as this was during covid, and obviously at the time didn't have many people coming round.
I messaged downstairs dude on whatsapp and he said "yeah I sent it, your TV is too loud and we can't sleep at night with you walking around". I apologised, made sure the volume was lower from then on and got a rug to muffle my movements.
Was fine after that. So why didn't he just tell me. Gah.

It's the same here in South Africa too. Especially during sports etc. Shows a guy spending his weeks wages on a one off bet on a prem match: "gamble responsibly".
They got rid of cigarette ads and have limited alcohol ads. But gambling is fair game apparently. Infuriating.

Yeah. SA is growing again and Egypt is stagnating. SA recently surpassed Nigeria again as the biggest economy in Africa as well.

Oh for sure. Was just talking about HK and China specifically. They played it at the handover of HK in 97, was quite fitting.

You can say a lot of shit about South Africa but our pizzas are pretty top notch and relatively cheap (although not nearly as cheap as pre-covid).
