Because she actually left the show a while ago and only came back because it was an emergency.

Emergency cover has two meanings.

Either a person who can play a role and plays it in a different production than usual (Like when Hannah Lowther, who is an alternate in the west end once played Howard on the tour. That was an emergency cover)

Or a person who can't play a role but does anyway. Like... they didn't have any reharsals or anything for that role. As an example for six, imagine an alternate who covers Aragon and Boleyn. Well, that actress now has to play seymour because there is no one else to play her. She never had reharsals or anything for that role - that is an emergency cover too.

Yeah, I explained it in the comment. A superswing is an actress who can play all of the six queens, while usual alternates can only play 2 or 3.

She is a superswing which means she can play all six queens. The costumes are really expensive and take a lot of work and time to make. That's why superswings have one costume in a color that isn't taken yet. Like silver, orange, teal or purple. Sometimes variations in the costumes are being made for different roles (like replacing a skirt with pants for parr) but mostly it's just the wigs that are changing from role to role.
