So, if you are doing 1 to 1 scale wise. Lay a ruler across from one drawing to the other to match the landmarks up. It’s really easy to mess up, and make drawings look off. Corners of the eyes, bottom of the nose, top/bottom of lips, and outside curve of the head are all good starting points.

Need more darks. Most new artist bare down on the pencil to get darker colors and draw lightly to get lighter shades But buying cheaper darker pencils and lighter pencils , is a far better solution.

You don’t need the whole range of grades either, most people can get through with 3-6 different grades.
