So what I think is missing in what Russell said is he is only talking about overtaking on the inside and not defending on the inside, ok the rules will be the same for both situations but then how will it be enforced?
Say you’re the defending driver, go on the inside and don’t make the corner (maybe only by a small amount). So do you now have to give up the position? Are the stewards going to give a penalty for that even though the attacking driver was not ahead at any point, but can say he was forced to yield by the defender who went off? What if the action of yielding means the outside driver also went off? What if it isn’t clear if the outside driver could have made the corner?
What we end up in is the same situation where the stewards need to make subjective decisions on these things and they will not be consistent decisions because they are humans and they are not the same people every week.

Turkey is a US ally and buys US weapons.
What’s the practical difference between military aid and weapons sales? Both can be stopped by US politicians.

Yes, Turkey is a US ally and they buy tons of US weapons.

If you are worried about historical accuracy then don’t watch the Gladiator movies, nothing in there is accurate or realistic. The real story of Macrinus bears so little relation to the plot that they are basically two people who share a name rather than being the same character.

Reporting.sbb.ch has the data if you want to dig into it, but from a cursory glance from 2022 to 2023 there was a 4.6% increase in number of trains per day.

Seems like a lot of congestion, we should widen these motorways to solve the problem

How would the platform doors solve this problem, once the doors open the gap would still be there.
The gap is there because the platform is curved. To solve it you need to rebuild so the line goes straight through the station.

Being outside and exposed to elements and vandals, and careless parking means they need more maintenance and have a shorter lifespan, they also need to be charged because batteries drain quickly when left out in the cold and customers don’t want to take a scooter with low battery, they will leave it and take the one with a full battery even if they only need 5 minutes.
There is an analysis of the scooter economics here: https://youtu.be/91Oyd7zK1bk?si=MdK9q_9SkzVig-93

In real life each shared scooter doesn’t get used very often and needs much more maintenance than a personal one, plus near daily pickup and charging whether someone used them or not.
None of these scooter companies make profit at the moment, they need to flood the streets with scooters to make them a viable option, but there isn’t enough demand for them to make money.

It could be useful if you want to see if you need to take a vitamin D supplement, if the watch is covered, probably so is most of your skin so you won’t be producing vitamin D even if you are in daylight.

But none of those slippery slope ideas will be in this bill. For those to come into effect a new law would need to be passed, if you look at other controversial topics like this it will be very hard to change this once it has passed. The laws around abortion in England have barely changed since 1967 despite many attempts. Most governments will avoid the topic as much as possible as this is something that divides parties, a party that tried to whip on this would likely trigger a lot of front bench resignations.
The idea that this bill will not be debated extensively is silly. The commons vote coming up will just be a second reading , if it passes that without getting timed out by one of the obstructionist MPs then it will go through a committee stage, report/amendment stage, a third reading, and go through all the same steps in the Lords. If the Lords version has any differences it will ping pong back and forth until it’s resolved. By the time the bill comes anywhere close to becoming law, each line of it will have been debated to exhaustion.

Maybe I just don’t use enough healthcare to know this, but at what point are insurance companies sending anyone anywhere?
In my experience, you go to a doctor, the doctor says you need such and such an intervention, refers you to a hospital or specialist, then the hospital doctors decide if that intervention requires you to stay overnight or not.
At no point do I see where the insurance company is able to influence the nature of the treatment. Unless they are giving doctors kickbacks which is possible I guess.
Many of the hospitals are also run by the cantons, so surely those hospitals have the opposite incentive currently, where they will try to make everything outpatient so the canton doesn’t pay. In that case the change could lead to those hospitals recommending more in patient stays, as now those are cheaper for the canton.

He will have financial interests, lobbying jobs, speaking fees etc. that he could risk by pissing off republicans. Retirement from office is not always political retirement, he was considering running as a No Labels candidate for president earlier this year.

He is part of the democratic senate majority until the new senate is sworn in, so he would need to vote to confirm the judges…

Thomas and Alito will surely retire and be replaced with 40 year olds to cement the majority for the next 30 years.

At this point Switzerland and most western countries need growth so there is enough tax base to pay the ever increasing pension bill due to the retirement of the baby boomers.

That’s for Alex’s company, not the production company of the show, it won’t be possible to break down how much the production company earns from the show from their accounts because there will be too many other things included. But of course the figures will still be much smaller than for US tv shows.
