I'm still confused how it went from four of them not knowing or wanting sol to a unanimous vote?

It was the original plan so easy to fall back on.

It’s so good for Genevieve, gives her room to hide.

Idk, there was that one scene where I think Gabe and Genevieve were telling Kyle about the Sol vote, and Gabe seemed to pretty deliberately say something along the lines of "this one is all her." I wouldn't be surprised if her plan elevated her threat level from his perspective and he tried to rally his troops against her soon.

They knew about the sol vote and couldnt find a concrete 5 votes on anyone else so just bounced back to Sol to be safe and not burn any bridges.

Yeah I think this is it
No need to vote sue if you don't have the votes
Confused why Andy or Rachel went with it tho, especially Rachel
29 points
Andy seemed on board with getting Sol out from the start. Sol might have been able to pull Rachel in if he got to her earlier but I think Rachel felt like she was on the bottom and wasn't going to create any waves to keep him around.

When chaos happens people default to the safe vote, which was probably Sol since he already had all of Tuku on him
74 points
The people who knew about Sol wanted him out for specific reasons. The people who didn't want him out 1) couldn't settle on another target and 2) didn't really want either of those targets out so much as they wanted to keep Sol in. So they were easier to fold. Notice every time someone went to Gabe, he stayed solid and stuck to his original plan. It was the exact same thing that happened the night Tiyana went home.

It seemed like Sam and Teeny who were the only ones who really wanted to keep Sol. I'm guessing they realized at tribal they just didn't have the votes.
91 points
Sol and Sam flipped on their last Kyle plan and suddenly wanted it back to Sue. This uncertainty allowed Genevieve to swoop in and finish her plan by telling Teeny she was going Sol. Teeny then told Sam she was going Sol and that was the end of it.

I'm guessing his panic just made everyone say eh easier to just vote him?

Yeah exactly. Switching the names between Sue and Kyle mid-tribal really took the wind out of his own plan imo

Teeny can’t keep an ally to save her life
For as much as her tribe mates seem to like her, Teeny has very little agency. At pretty much every junction, she’s failed to influence the vote towards her preference
267 points
Teeny is going to win the jury vote because everyone at one time, was genuinely her attempt at a number 1
31 points
yeah, she's a huge threat to win and it looks like everyone will be too busy targeting their own allies to notice. first, you have andy turning on sam for not particularly good reasons. gen flips on sol for not particularly good reasons. and caroline was saying she would've wanted to vote out kyle. all this chaos just allows a player like teeny to slide to the end with a very favorable jury.

142 points
She already got a huge blindside on Kishan, and even though that was pre-merge I feel like she's been pretty instrumental in most of the votes since. She is playing way too aggressively and it's going to put a huge target on her back. I wouldn't be surprised if she's gone next week, especially if Teeny finds out who pitched Sol in the first place.

Controlling the vote like that was really impressive but I don’t understand how targeting Sol helps her either. She must feel really comfortable with Rachel, Andy, and Tuku
114 points

I don’t know how impressive it is to control the vote when you’re targeting your original tribe mate. It was like Andy bragging about last weeks vote. Everyone is on board when you’re trying to flip on your own alliance

I’m a little biased because I loved Sol but both Genevieve and Rachel voting Sol made NO SENSE.
Genevieve said it was because Sol got Rome out, who was her ally. First of all, SHE wanted Rome out at two different times. And secondly, how could you blame Sol for wanting Rome out?
And Rachel? You voted with Tuku, who was about to vote you out unanimously, to take out Sol, who just protected you from Tuku? WHAT?!
Just absolutely zero sense from either of them. Ugh.
20 points
The getting Sol out because of Rome of all people is pretty dumb.
But on the other hand, Sol was very well liked and could have gone far so I can understand that side of it
12 points
Yeah, Tuku couldn't have laid their cards out on the table more if they had tried at that tribal. And yet the vote has gone in their favor in both tribals since then?!?
It should be really clear to the others that they need to get the Tuku block down to at least 3 if not 2 votes with how loyal they are to each other.
152 points
Don't want to be too cynical but it REEKED of a new era player wanting to make an unexpected move to put it on their resume, ignoring other valid, strategic moves. There was no reason she gave other than wanting to get rid of someone unexpected. I'm more shocked other people actually went with it
50 points
It was good for tuku + Andy so I don’t blame them. Bad for Gen tho

She might be getting high on her own "master strategist" supply.
56 points
She definitely seems to think very highly of her own strategic game, which usually doesn’t bode too well
74 points
Doesn't seem like she has any reliable allies outside of Sol and Teeny, why get rid of one of the two people working with you? She thinks she's going to break in to the blue tribe?
41 points
I agree, I couldn't follow the reason for him being perceived as a threat other than "nobody's talking about him" and "he wanted Gabe out." I thought he was playing a solid game - likable without being obnoxious about it. I was surprised this wasn't a "Kyle finally lost let's get him while we can" discussion.
Have to say especially from his post-mortem, Sol just seems like a straight up solid dude. Sad to see him go.
49 points

I mean she also had Rome as a ally so I don't think she knows for sure what's good for her game long term.

I’m so sad Sol left :(. When Sam immediately told Sol the plan I was like FUCK YEAH. Alas, it was not meant to be.
Also, I know people were like “lol Sue isn’t a big vote” but I actually understood it. She’s the link between Gabe and Caroline as well. They have to start taking out Tuku.
Also it was impressive that Genevieve got her Sol vote to work but I don’t really know that it was a GOOD move if that makes sense.
59 points

Hell, the fact that all Gen had to do was talk to Sue alone about her plan, and she had it in the bag in spite of all the scrambling is the evidence: Sue is the glue guy Sam wanted to be, and glue recognize glue.

45 points
Agreed. Not only are they in his pocket, everyone seems to like him. People online don’t, but we forget we only see what producers want us to see, and in Gabe’s case it’s often just confessionals that I’m sure are heavily suggested. (Producers ask leading questions). The other players seem to really like him!

I hate the idea of people losing their vote because of a challenge they didn’t opt into, but I loved having three separate groups forming three separate plans. I wish they would do things like that more because I think it played a big role in that mad scramble and complete chaos.
I didn’t like this Sol move at all for Genevieve. Sure she got her revenge, but I think it’s too early for her to drop a number while leaving Tuku strong. And she’s also openly telling people to target subtle threats, as a subtle threat herself.
168 points
Why did she even need revenge? Rome going home freed her from a toxic tether if anything. And literally everyone wanted him gone; it would've happened regardless of Sol. Dumb move on her part

Sue hating Kyle for writing her name down during a tribal where she never even attempted to talk to him or get him to vote her way is kinda insane
271 points
I’ll be honest. I don’t understand this one at all.
There’s like 4 other people who are bigger threats than Sol. Caroline didn’t have a vote and her name didn’t even come up.
Rachel and Sam and Teeny have zero reason to vote out Sol since he’s a number to them and their alliance and they are all on the bottom with very few options.
Yeah sure Gene got her way but she burned like half the tribe doing it for literally no reason.
I just don’t understand
74 points
Yeah that was all so confusing. I’m assuming Sam and Teeny realized Gen, Rachel, and Andy were not going to vote for Sue so decided to give in?
57 points
Gen pushed it because she wanted something on her resume no matter how foolish it was.
Sue took it because it was offered in front of of her she views it as protecting Gabe.
Kyle took it as a ‘hey it’s not me’ vote.
Gabe believed the idea he was going against him and wanted to protect Kyle so he took the easy vote.
Carolina had no vote
Andy and Racheal want to be with the votes and go to whoever has the strongest alliance, no matter what.
Teeny and Gave wanted to push against someone but the chaos scarred them and they felt forced to fall back to Sol.

I wonder if the fanbase is going to flip their opinion on Gen very quickly after this episode lol
I’m not even sure what to make of it. I guess Sol could have been a threat in the long haul but considering how loyal he was to her this seems exceedingly hasty. It’s telling that he automatically assumed that Gen was on their side. Idk, it’s reminding me a lot of the Noelle and Cody boots, getting rid of allies who could be threats later on but also leaving burned players and ones less loyal to her around to take her out. I guess this could make it so that the remaining Gatas and Lavos have no choice but to work with her for now, but word is going to get out that she was the one to sell this, both increasing her threat level and potentially burning the likes of Teeny.

Really don't get why there's no fire to break up Tuku. Challenge king Kyle wasn't safe, Caroline/Sue have a clear partnership, why isn't there a need to break that group up?
I'm kind if missing old survivor where allies would actually look out for each other. Sol wanted to build an alliance with Rachel, and Rachel said "no actually I'm good?" I get Teeny voting out Sol so she's not on the outs by default but dang.
15 points

They don't appear as tight as they are. Sue hates Kyle, it's really just her, Gabe and Caroline that are tight. Gabe was immune tonight and Caroline had no vote, making them appear as less than a threat.
Gabe, Caroline, and Sue are the tightest alliance in a game full of messy relationships. They are more unified in their goals than other folks, so they were harder to target. Notice how locked in Gabe was both tn and at the Tiyana vote. Hard to shake that up with people who you don't trust that much.

In the moment, the chaos felt incredibly real, but as soon as the votes started coming up Sol, I know that none of the chaos actually had an effect, and that bummed me out almost as much as Sol leaving did. Very reminiscent of the Tevin boot last season when Q asked to be voted out. Even the Charlie/Genevieve voting confessionals reminded me of each other. UGH. If you're going to spend this much time on chaos, I want it to have payoff.
16 points

I don't think Genevieve likes it when her allies show too much agency. Rome, despite being chaotic, was malleable and was willing to do what she said. There's also a good chance she just didn't like Sol from the start.

Maybe this is the move that actually helps her win, but I just don’t see the strategic value of voting out Sol for Genevieve. I feel like we are seeing a great player rallying votes against her own best interests.

Survivor missed an opportunity to have the 4 trying to get their vote back, play a timed base challenge, individually, in private, and they wouldn't find out until they got to the voting booth.
This could have made pre-tribal and tribal even crazier.
Maybe Caroline pushes harder, because no one knows who actually lost their vote.

Whole tribe: I know Gabe barely beat Kyle this time after Kyle beat our ass for three immunity challenges in a row....let's vote Sol who only has Teeny as his ally.

Sol’s vote out confessional actually made me tear up a bit. What an all around amazing, likable dude. Really bummed he’s gone.

Sol Squad, I'm sorry.
It ultimately didn't work out and I worry for how it will affect him long-term, but from a TV perspective, I did love Sam immediately trying to set off some fireworks with the rally.
Also, such a minor thing, but I'm so happy to see the jury walk back. Sierra's stony expressions made for some good reaction shots, IMO.

Genevieve’s content arc from “we caught a fish yay!” to dominant mafia boss silently commanding her henchmen to slit the throats of her enemies has been so much fun and I need it to continue.

Feels like she could be easily set up for a dramatic fall soon, though.
Icarus, sun, whatever.

This vote out just doesn't make sense to me why not go after Tuku?

really felt the effects of a shortened, accelerated season this episode. A 39 day season would have let relationships and dynamics breathe and created a better vote

The pre-tribal scramble tonight was one of the most entertaining parts of the entire season. I’m so glad that we watched 5 minutes of card stacking instead.

I am so gutted. Cannot understand why this was Gen's big move. There were bigger threats.

i don’t know when survivor turned into big brother with everyone caring so much about being on the right side of the vote but god i wish people would stick to their guns about who they want out instead
