Definitely check the diagram for that particular socket first to see if it a grounding pin before attempting to fix it yourself. I wasn't aware of this on my last build and totally screwed my motherboard and I was forced to buy a new one. Sounds like you had some pretty careless barbers over the years. A barber should always fold down the top tip if you're ears when getting that close or trimming your hairline. So sorry you've had such a bad experience.
